If you have never heard of the “Pedal” magazine, don’t fuss over it, not that many people have I suppose because it’s a Canadian mag and who reads Canadian cycling mags? You may have heard, however, of a certain Patrice Brunet (check out the link, you won’t regret it, a picture, they say, is worth… :-), a Montreal based lawyer who chaired a triheaded panel of the American Arbitration Agency which deprived Floyd Landis of his 2006 Tour de France win by finding him guilty of doping.

Australian Cyclist of the Year Awards

Cycling Australia has announced yesterday the finalists of the Scody 2007 People’s Choice Cyclist of the Year awards. The 5 riders to be voted for the award are Cadel Evans, Sam Hill, Anna Meares, Stuart O’Grady and Michael Rogers. Voting is open until Tuesday 27 November.

Voters will be eligible to win something too - a trip to Adelaide to see Evans, I mean whoever wins, receive the award, plus an autographed photo and, check this, a Scody cycling jersey and knicks!

Chris Horner signs with Johan Bruyneel’s Astana team (or yada yada yada)

Johan Bruyneel, team manager of the Kazakh government run Astana, wasted no time after Paolo Savoldelli’s departure to LPR by quickly signing up Chris Horner, an American rider who rode a brilliant 2007 Tour finishing 15th overall.

VeloNews published an interesting interview with Horner, well, the interview itself isn’t that special but there’s an interesting part in it.

Rasmussen’s Excuse Ain’t Good Enough

Michael Rasmussen was accused of deliberately lying to his team management about his whereabouts in the months leading to the Tour de France, reports International Herald Tribune. Rabobank, Rasmussen’s employer at the time of 2007 Tour de France, has commissioned an investigation of the events that lead to Rasmussen’s withdrawal from the Tour by Rabobank. Apparently, Michael’s excuse of “marital reasons” for lying didn’t impress the sleuths that much.
